Public Holidays and Memorial Days in Armenia
The Law “On Holidays and Memorial Days” defines all official holidays and memorial days observed in the Republic of Armenia.
According to the law, New Year and Christmas holidays are observed from December 31 to January 2 inclusive.
January 6 is celebrated as Christmas and Epiphany, and it is also a non-working day.
The Day of Remembrance of the Dead (Merelots), which follows the Christmas and Epiphany holiday, is observed on January 7. This day is considered a working day, unless the government adopts a separate decision to declare it non-working.
According to the Labor Code of Armenia, on the day preceding official holidays and memorial days, the length of the working day is reduced by one hour, except for employees working under reduced or part-time schedules.
As of now, no official decision has been made regarding non-working and memorial days for 2026.
