Abruptly and completely stopping coffee consumption may lead to temporary changes in well-being, according to nutrition specialist Irina Pisareva in an interview with Vechernyaya Moskva.
The expert explained that in the first few days after quitting coffee, some individuals may experience symptoms such as headaches, drowsiness, irritability, reduced concentration, or mild digestive discomfort. These effects are commonly associated with caffeine withdrawal and typically last for several days before gradually improving.
At the same time, the specialist noted that reducing or eliminating coffee intake may have potential benefits over the longer term for some people. Reported changes can include improved sleep quality, reduced anxiety, more stable mood, and in certain cases, better blood pressure regulation. Energy levels may also normalize over time, often within several weeks.
Individual responses to caffeine reduction can vary. Anyone considering significant dietary changes is encouraged to consult a qualified healthcare professional, especially if they have existing medical conditions.
