Khoren Levonyan Speaks Out on Departure from Public TV

Armenian actor and TV host Khoren Levonyan has spoken about the reasons behind his departure from the Public Television of Armenia during an appearance on the program “Tet a Tet.”

Levonyan explained that he had been invited to record a voiceover for a New Year film but declined after reviewing the script. According to him, the text did not align with his professional values and appeared to undermine the work he had built over the years, particularly his long-standing involvement in the program “Yerg Yergots.”

He noted that while he maintained a positive relationship with the broadcaster, where he had worked for around 25 years, he requested minor edits to the script, citing concerns about its tone and references. When those changes were not made, he chose not to participate.

Following this decision, Levonyan said a meeting was held in which his refusal was discussed, and a decision was eventually made to remove him from the channel. He added that he had been preparing for upcoming recordings at the time and expressed uncertainty about the future of his projects, noting that reruns of his previous work are currently being aired.

No official response from the broadcaster has been publicly detailed regarding the situation.
