Regular Exercise May Help Lower High Blood Pressure, Study Finds

Regular physical activity may significantly reduce high blood pressure even without medication, according to a study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine.

Researchers analyzed data from 31 clinical studies involving more than 1,345 participants. The scientists compared the effects of different types of exercise on daily blood pressure levels and found that combined workouts — including both cardio and strength training — as well as high-intensity interval training (HIIT), produced the strongest results.

According to the study, these forms of exercise reduced systolic blood pressure by an average of 5 to 6 mmHg.

Traditional aerobic activities such as walking, running, and cycling also showed positive effects. Researchers explained that regular exercise helps improve blood vessel function and reduces strain on the cardiovascular system.

Specialists note that maintaining consistent physical activity may play an important role in supporting heart health and managing blood pressure naturally.
