Local media outlet Hraparak has reported additional details regarding the death of a conscript soldier at a military unit in Kapan, where authorities earlier confirmed a suicide case.
According to the publication’s sources, the soldier may have experienced psychological pressure related to an informal practice allegedly existing among some servicemen. The report claims that disputes can arise when soldiers fall asleep while on duty at military positions, sometimes leading to conflicts and verbal abuse among fellow servicemen.
The source further alleged that such tensions have previously contributed to serious incidents within the military environment.
According to the report, the deceased soldier was originally from Artsakh and had relocated with his family to the village of Artimet in the Echmiadzin community following the displacement of Armenians from the region.
At this stage, these claims are based on media reports and unnamed sources. The official circumstances of the soldier’s death have not yet been fully established, and the relevant authorities are expected to conduct an investigation.
As with any ongoing case, conclusions regarding responsibility or the causes of death should await the findings of the official investigation.
