Steve Perry has given his stamp of approval to a heartwarming rendition of Journey’s iconic hit «Don’t Stop Believin’,» performed by a modest school janitor whose video has gone viral.
The man behind the viral sensation is Richard Goodall, who delivered the stirring performance on an assembly stage at County School Corporation in Terre Haute, Indiana. The clip, shared on TikTok by his coworker Mariah Denehie, has since captivated viewers around the world.
Goodall, who has spent over two decades performing for students at the school, reflects in the video, “It’s humbling and fun, but I’m still the same person I’ve always been. I’m just me.”
The performance caught the attention of none other than Journey’s Steve Perry, who tweeted, “I love this,” in response to Goodall’s version.
In a later interview with ABC News, Goodall shared his excitement after receiving the legendary singer’s praise.
