Jason Aldean described performing for Donald Trump as “a whole different ball game” and praised Carrie Underwood’s resilience during her Inauguration Day a cappella performance.
Underwood, 41, impressed many with her rendition of America the Beautiful despite technical issues that forced her to perform without instrumental backing. Aldean, known for hits like Dirt Road Anthem, reflected on the moment during an appearance on Fox & Friends, where he commended Underwood’s professionalism.
“First off, that’s a tough song to sing,” Aldean said, referencing the patriotic classic. “When you’re expecting a backing track to help guide your pitch and suddenly it’s not there, it can throw anyone off. But for her to step up and say, ‘Let’s do this anyway,’ shows her experience and skill. She handled it like a true pro.”
Aldean also reflected on his own experience performing at the Liberty Ball after Trump’s inauguration, calling it “an incredible honor” to be part of such a significant event. “The energy was electric,” he shared. “Everyone there was excited for what felt like the beginning of a new chapter.”
The Highway Desperado singer noted that performing for the former president was a unique and memorable experience. His wife, Brittany Kerr, shared similar sentiments, posting photos of the couple dressed in deep red ensembles on Instagram.
