People ‘work out’ why Elon Musk’s son ‘little X’ told Trump to ‘s.h.u.s.h his mouth’

Elon Musk’s son, X Æ A-12, stole the spotlight during his visit to the White House this week, drawing attention for his interactions with the President.

The four-year-old, affectionately called X, became a source of amusement in the Oval Office, making faces, climbing over his father, and even appearing to wipe his nose on the historic Resolute desk.

This unfolded as the 53-year-old SpaceX CEO joined former President Donald Trump, 78, to answer questions following the signing of an executive order. The order, which mandates government agencies to collaborate with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to cut costs, has faced notable opposition.

However, it wasn’t just policy discussions making waves online—viewers have been buzzing about what Little X may have said to Trump during their encounter. Some believe he told the former president, “I want you to s.h.u.t your mouth up,” while others insist he declared, “You are not the president; you need to go away.”

One viral post on Musk’s platform, X, added to the speculation, featuring a clip that appears to show the child saying, “I want you to s.h.u.s.h your mouth.” The post, which has garnered 44,000 likes so far, fueled discussions about whether X was echoing words he had heard from his father.

An X user, @isaiah_bb, theorized: “This is exactly the kind of thing kids repeat after hearing it from their parents,” prompting agreement from many others.

“Children absorb what’s spoken around them,” one person commented. Another user added, “You learn from your environment,” while someone else remarked, “Kids are like parrots—they repeat what they hear.”

Meanwhile, others suggested that Little X may have actually been addressing a journalist in the room rather than Trump himself. “I don’t even think he was talking to Trump. He seemed to be speaking to someone on his left,” one observer speculated.

The discussion gained even more traction after Grimes, X’s mother—whose real name is Claire Boucher—responded to the viral moment.

Taking to X, she reacted to a post about the incident, writing: “He shouldn’t be in public like this. I hadn’t seen this before—thank you for letting me know. But I’m relieved he was at least polite. Sigh.”
