Body Areas Where You Should Never Use Tweezers

Chest Area

Most of our body is covered with hair follicles, so hair around the chest is completely normal. If you feel uncomfortable about it, think twice before reaching for tweezers. This area is very sensitive, and plucking hair can cause skin irritation or even infection, explains therapist Ann Neenan. If redness or swelling appears after hair removal, it is best to consult a doctor. Instead of plucking, the specialist recommends carefully trimming the hair with scissors.

Hair Growing on Moles

When long, coarse hair grows from a mole, it may be tempting to remove it with tweezers right away. However, according to doctors, this is a bad idea. Plucking can lead to redness, pain, swelling, and sometimes more serious complications. Dermatologist and cosmetologist Irina Skorogudaeva explains that such hair is not dangerous if the mole is benign. However, repeated trauma is one of the factors that can trigger a benign mole to become malignant.

Nose Hair

Remember that nose hair grows for a reason. It plays an important role in filtering dust, bacteria, and other small particles, preventing them from entering the lungs. Removing it completely can weaken this natural protective barrier.

Ingrown Hairs

Ingrown hairs can be uncomfortable and may cause small bumps or inflammation. Instead of damaging your skin by trying to pull them out, gently exfoliate the area. Exfoliation removes dead skin cells and helps hair grow properly without becoming trapped under the skin.

Pimples and Rashes

If you are tempted to use tweezers to remove an unattractive pimple on your face—thinking it is safer than squeezing it with your fingers—pause for a moment. Such actions can worsen inflammation, increase the risk of infection, and leave scars. It is always better to use proper skincare products or consult a specialist.
