Schools in Yerevan will temporarily switch to a six-day school week ahead of the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP17), Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports has announced.
Starting from September 15, schools in the capital will operate six days a week for five consecutive weeks.
The additional school days will allow students to have a two-week autumn break in October instead of the usual one week. During one week of the COP17 event, classes in Yerevan will not be held.
The 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) is scheduled to take place in Armenia from October 19 to 30, 2026.
