Major Water Pipeline Damaged in Gyumri: Emergency Repairs Continue Overnight

The incident involves a 1,000-millimeter-diameter steel pipeline that delivers water to the Mayisyan daily regulation reservoir, an important part of Gyumri’s water supply infrastructure.

The company confirmed that a water supply interruption had already been announced in the city.

Emergency Repair Teams Working Overnight

According to Veolia Water, the pipeline’s large diameter made the repair process more complicated, as considerable time was required to completely drain the system before work could begin.

Once the pipeline had been emptied, specialists from the company’s Shirak operational division immediately started emergency repairs.

Veolia Water said its technical teams would continue working throughout the night to restore the damaged infrastructure as quickly as possible.

The company aims to fully restore water supply by the previously announced morning deadline, although the exact restoration time was not specified in the latest statement.

The incident has highlighted the importance of the damaged pipeline for the city’s water distribution network.

Residents are advised to follow official updates from Veolia Water regarding the progress of repairs and the restoration of normal service.

The company has assured consumers that its teams are making every effort to complete the necessary work and resume water supply.
