Levon Azizyan, Director of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center, wrote on his Facebook page that a strong cold wave is approaching Eastern Europe.
According to him, the epicenter of the cold will be located in Central Russia, Belarus, and the Baltic states, where temperatures may drop to as low as –30°C. On the morning of February 2, temperatures in these areas are expected to be approximately 20 degrees below normal.
The severe cold is also expected to affect northern regions of Ukraine and nearby areas, bringing significantly colder-than-average conditions.
