Oncologist and mammologist Dr. Roman Temnikov, PhD in Medical Sciences, Professor of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and a member of the Russian Association of Oncologists, has outlined possible early signs of blood cancer (leukemia).
According to the doctor, medical examination is recommended if a person experiences symptoms such as persistent headaches or dizziness, poor appetite, unexplained fever, weakness and fatigue, frequent infections, or sudden weight loss.
At later stages, the disease may present with additional symptoms, including rapid heartbeat (tachycardia), unexplained bruising, slow-healing wounds, bluish discoloration of the lips or nails, fainting, seizures, skin rashes, as well as pain in the bones and joints.
Dr. Temnikov noted that leukemia is often difficult to diagnose at an early stage. In many cases, the disease is detected during routine medical checkups or when a patient seeks medical attention for an unrelated issue. His comments were cited by Komsomolskaya Pravda.
He also explained that specialists should pay close attention to changes in blood test results, particularly the presence of a large number of immature cells alongside reduced levels of platelets and red blood cells.
Important note:
These symptoms can be associated with various medical conditions. Only a qualified healthcare professional can provide an accurate diagnosis. Anyone experiencing persistent or concerning symptoms should seek medical advice.
