In response to recent media reports and public inquiries regarding the 2026 water supply schedules published by Veolia Water, the company has provided clarifications on the procedure and regulatory framework governing these schedules.
According to the rules for the provision of drinking water supply and wastewater services approved by the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia (Decision No. 378-N of November 30, 2016), Veolia Water is required to publish the water supply schedule for the following year on its official website (veolia.am). The schedules are prepared on an address-specific basis so that each subscriber can review the planned water supply times for their location.
The published water supply schedules may be adjusted during the year, primarily in the summer months, due to changes in weather conditions, technical capacities of the water supply system, variations in water source availability, and the increase in the number of consumers as a result of new construction and population growth. These adjustments are intended, among other objectives, to reduce water losses during nighttime hours and to support more stable water supply during daytime hours.
Within the framework of agreements reached with the Government of Armenia, represented by the Water Committee, the company plans to continue implementing investment programs with significantly increased funding. These programs aim to reduce physical water losses and, over time, increase the volume of water supplied to subscribers in Yerevan.
Until the completion of the investment projects, the company has a regulated obligation to announce seasonal variations in water supply schedules at least twice a year. Such announcements were made in November 2025 and February 2026.
Veolia Water also stated that since the start of its lease agreement, it has not breached any contractual obligations related to subscribers’ water supply schedules.
