A magnitude 2.9 earthquake was recorded in Georgia on August 24 at 6:04 PM, according to Armenia’s Rescue Service.
The earthquake occurred 13 km west of Dmanisi at a depth of 10 km. The intensity of the tremor in the epicentral area reached 4 points.
The earthquake was also felt in several communities in Armenia. Tremors measuring 2–3 points were reported in Bavra, Saragyugh and Sizavet villages of Shirak Province, as well as Paghaghbyur, Dzyunashogh and Metsavan villages of Lori Province.
The region around Dmanisi has experienced several small earthquakes recently, including another tremor recorded on August 19.
