Minor Earthquake Recorded Near Martuni, Armenia

A minor earthquake was recorded in Armenia on March 24 at 2:10 PM local time (10:10 AM GMT), according to the Seismic Protection Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The seismic event occurred approximately 8 kilometers southeast of the city of Martuni, at a depth of 10 kilometers, with a magnitude of 2.7. The epicenter coordinates were recorded at 40.08° north latitude and 45.35° east longitude.

The intensity of the tremor in the epicentral zone reached 3–4 on the seismic scale.

The earthquake was also felt in the village of Zolakar in the Gegharkunik Province, where the intensity was estimated at 2–3.

No damage or injuries have been reported.
