Ministry Warns Against Paid “Training” Services for Teacher Certification

Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports has issued a warning regarding misleading paid services related to teacher certification.

According to the ministry, information has circulated online about organizations offering paid assistance in preparing certification packages for teachers. Officials emphasize that such services are unnecessary and do not serve as a valid basis for obtaining certification, leading only to unnecessary financial expenses.

The ministry also noted that under the guise of “teacher training,” some groups are selling materials and conducting sessions that lack proper educational content. Instead of professional development, participants are reportedly exposed to discussions unrelated to education, including political topics that may interfere with education policy.

In addition, these groups are said to accept paid requests for writing school development programs for principals.

The ministry specifically highlighted that certain organizations, including the Education Development and Management Foundation, are engaged in non-educational activities. Teachers and school staff are strongly advised to avoid participating in such services.

The ministry has also referred the matter to law enforcement authorities to prevent further illegal activities.
