Nutrition experts warn that excessive consumption of popular sweet snacks such as Choco Pie may negatively affect health over time.
According to reports published by Past.am
, such products often contain high amounts of sugar, palm oil, trans fats, artificial flavorings, emulsifiers, and preservatives.
Specialists explain that trans fats and saturated fats are considered particularly concerning because they may increase levels of “bad” cholesterol (LDL) and raise the risk of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. High sugar content may also contribute to obesity, diabetes, and metabolic disorders.
Some products may additionally contain food additives such as E322 (lecithin), E471 (mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids), and E500 (baking soda). While these additives are permitted in food production, experts advise avoiding excessive long-term consumption, especially among children.
Nutritionists emphasize that occasional consumption is generally not considered dangerous, but regularly eating large amounts of highly processed sweets may have negative effects on overall health. They recommend moderation and limiting foods high in sugar and processed fats.
