Rain, Thunderstorms and Strong Winds Forecast Across Armenia Through June 4

Armenia’s Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center has forecast unstable weather conditions across the country through June 4, including rain, thunderstorms, strong winds, and a temporary drop in temperatures.

In Yerevan, short-term rain and thunderstorms are expected on the afternoon of May 30, during the night of May 31, and mainly in the evening hours from June 1 to June 4. Wind gusts may reach 17–20 meters per second during thunderstorms.

Across Armenia, short-term rain and thunderstorms are forecast in most regions on the afternoon of May 30 and in some areas on May 31 and June 1–4, mainly during daytime hours. Hail is also possible in certain locations.

Forecasters warn that rainfall on May 30 may be heavy in some regions.

Northwesterly winds are expected at 2–5 meters per second, increasing to 17–20 meters per second during thunderstorms.

Temperatures are expected to drop by 6–10 degrees Celsius on the afternoon of May 30, before gradually rising again by 3–4 degrees Celsius between May 31 and June 2. Nighttime conditions from June 1 to June 4 are expected to remain mostly dry.
