Richard Giragosian, director of the Regional Studies Center (RSC) in Armenia, died on September 19 at a hospital in Istanbul.
Giragosian had previously been hospitalized in Istanbul after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage, according to Agos.
He had traveled to Istanbul the previous week to attend a meeting when he reportedly became unwell and required hospitalization.
Giragosian was receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital in Okmeydanı, where he had been kept under medically induced sedation.
His death was reported on September 19.
