University Mourns the Death of Armenian Servicemember and Journalism Student Narek Torosyan

The Russian-Armenian University has expressed its condolences following the death of Narek Torosyan, an Armenian servicemember who was also a journalism student at the university.

Marina Alekyan, Head of the Department of Journalism, shared a message on behalf of the university community, describing Torosyan as a kind, humble, and friendly young man whose memory would remain with everyone who knew him. The university extended its deepest sympathies to his family, relatives, friends, classmates, and all those affected by the loss.

According to available information, Torosyan was a resident of Charentsavan and lived with his parents and two younger sisters. He had been serving his compulsory military service for approximately six months at the time of his death.

Earlier, Armenia’s Investigative Committee confirmed that a criminal investigation had been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the servicemember’s death. Authorities have not yet released further official details regarding the cause of the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
