New details have emerged about Grigor Zakaryan, the Armenian conscript serviceman who was found dead with a gunshot wound at a military unit on August 13.
According to NEWS.am, Zakaryan was from Yerevan and was the only child in his family. He lived with his mother and had only a few months remaining before he was expected to complete his mandatory military service and be discharged.
The Ministry of Defense had previously reported that the body of serviceman Grigor Edgar Zakaryan was discovered on August 13 with a gunshot wound.
A criminal investigation has been launched in connection with his death. According to the available information, the proceedings concern allegations that the serviceman was driven to suicide.
Authorities are carrying out investigative and procedural measures to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
One person has been detained in connection with the case.
