Henrik Abrahamyan, the brother of former Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, has been arrested, Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee has confirmed.
The information was confirmed to MediaHub by Marina Ohanjanyan, spokesperson for the Anti-Corruption Committee.
According to the committee, the arrest was made within the framework of an ongoing criminal proceeding concerning alleged abuse of official authority, assistance in the commission of that act, official forgery and the use of a forged document.
“In response, we inform you that within the framework of the criminal proceeding being conducted by the Anti-Corruption Committee concerning cases of abuse of official authority by an official, assistance in that act, official forgery and use of a forged document, the brother of former Prime Minister H. A. has been arrested,” Ohanjanyan said.
The Anti-Corruption Committee’s statement confirms the arrest but does not, in the information currently available, establish guilt. The criminal proceeding is ongoing.
