During a Monday interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Trump shared that Melania had been “watching live” when the incident occurred and has since struggled to talk about it.

“She was watching it unfold live. She really can’t even bring herself to talk about it, and that’s fine—it shows how much she cares. She loves me,” Trump said, recounting Melania’s reaction. “When I came down, she feared the worst had happened,” the former president added.

Meanwhile, Ronald Rowe recently stepped in as the acting director of the Secret Service, replacing Kimberly Cheatle. Cheatle resigned following intense scrutiny during House hearings over communication failures tied to the July 13 shooting, according to reports from the Associated Press.
