Authorities in India are investigating the deaths of a family of four, in a case that may be linked to suspected food poisoning, according to reports by The Times of India.
Preliminary information indicates that the victims—identified as Abdulla Dodaqi, his wife Nasrin, and their daughters Aisha and Zainab—consumed watermelon purchased from a local market after dinner. Shortly afterward, all four developed severe symptoms consistent with poisoning. Other individuals who shared the same meal reportedly did not experience any health issues.
Medical professionals were unable to save the family and noted that even spoiled watermelon does not typically cause such severe outcomes. The case has been initially classified as an accident, but an investigation is ongoing, with authorities awaiting forensic examination results to determine the exact cause.
Officials have not yet confirmed the source of the suspected contamination.
