Residents of Kanakeravan have been warned not to use tap water after concerns were raised about contamination of the local water supply.
According to a notice published on the settlement’s Facebook page, residents are being asked to avoid using the water for drinking, food preparation or household purposes until the problem has been fully resolved.
“Please strictly follow this requirement until the issue is completely resolved and monitor further official announcements,” the statement said.
Residents are advised to follow subsequent official updates regarding when the water supply is considered safe for normal use again.
