Armenia’s minimum pension will increase by 1,000 AMD from January 1, 2027, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan announced on October 1.
The minimum pension, currently set at 46,000 AMD, will rise to 47,000 AMD. Various social benefits are also expected to increase to up to 47,000 AMD.
Torosyan also said that the amount used in calculating employment pensions based on years of service will increase by 500 AMD. Military pensions are also expected to increase in accordance with the relevant calculation formulas.
According to the minister, approximately 5.5 billion AMD will be allocated for the pension increases.
Part of the funding will come from changes to Armenia’s funeral benefit system. The government plans to discontinue the universal provision of the funeral benefit while retaining it for people included in the social vulnerability assistance system. The funds saved through the change will be redirected toward increasing pensions.
