The 71-year-old singer ignites the ‘The Voice’ stage with ‘Stand By Me.’

Jimi Bellmartin, a seasoned contestant on The Voice, delivered a show-stopping performance in the finals with his powerful rendition of the R&B classic «Stand By Me.»

Following his victory in the season, Bellmartin has the potential to release an EP and perform live at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome. He has been the clear favorite since the beginning of the year.

During his audition, when he sang James Brown’s «It’s a Man’s World» from the very first notes, all the coaches turned their chairs around in unison.

In this two-minute and thirty-three-second clip from The Voice Senior’s finals, Jimi Bellmartin performs Ben E King’s «Stand By Me» masterfully, captivating the audience, especially during the chorus «stand by me.» It’s an incredibly moving performance.

Bellmartin arrived in Holland at the age of one and grew up in Vught. Singing has been a part of his life since childhood, not only at parties but also as a backing vocalist for prominent artists like Percy Sledge, Lou Rawls, Eric Burdon, and The Trammps.

For years, he has traveled the world, sharing his talent with millions of people. Over two million viewers tuned in to witness the soulful singer’s victory in the RTL talent show finale with his rendition of «Loving Someone,» with Gordon and Gerard Joling as his coaches.

In 1970, Bellmartin released his debut single, «This is My Love Song.» He made his debut as the lead singer of The Soul Snatchers, a funk band, in 2007. Bellmartin’s performance of «Stand By Me» on The Voice is unforgettable, thanks to his distinctive soulful sound.
