Alan Jackson Shares Devasting Diagnosis, Please Pray

Esteemed country music icon Alan Jackson has recently shared somber news with his devoted fans. The 62-year-old Grammy winner has been diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease, a progressive nerve disorder.

This diagnosis has introduced challenges into his life, affecting his balance and weakening his muscles, thereby impacting his ability to grace the stage with performances.

CMT disease, a genetic condition inherited from Jackson’s father and grandmother, is also being battled by his sister. While there is no cure for CMT, it’s crucial to highlight that it is not a life-threatening condition. However, it can be associated with other health issues like Parkinson’s and muscular dystrophy.

In the face of this daunting diagnosis, Jackson maintains a hopeful outlook on his future in the music industry. During a recent interview with TODAY show host Jenna Bush Hager, he expressed the belief that being transparent about his condition is a «blessing.» Jackson is no longer inclined to conceal his struggles and aspires to continue touring, albeit acknowledging the challenges that may arise.

Jackson’s profound impact on country music is indisputable. With a staggering 43.5 million albums sold in the United States, he holds the esteemed title of one of the best-selling recording artists of all time.

His illustrious career reached new heights last year when he was inducted into the prestigious Country Music Hall of Fame, an occasion celebrated by fellow country music legends such as Loretta Lynn and Lee Ann Womack.

Despite her ongoing stroke recovery, Lynn graced the induction ceremony and lauded Jackson, stating, «The first time I ever met Alan, he looked like a scared little boy. He hasn’t let me down. You’re going to be one of the greatest singers in country music.»
