Dermatologist reveals what could be the mystery marks on Trump’s hand

During recent public appearances, former president Donald Trump exhibited curious red markings on his hand.

Observers noted the presence of these marks on his thumb, index finger, and palm as he waved to cameras, sparking speculation about their origin. Some suggested potential causes ranging from a fall to hand herpes, or even a mishap with ketchup.

Dr. Joshua Zeichner, an associate professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital, was consulted regarding the possible reasons for the appearance of these red marks. In an interview with Business Insider, he explained, “Rashes on the hands can stem from various factors, including infections, inflammatory conditions, or external exposures.”

However, he cautioned against making a definitive diagnosis based solely on a single photograph.

Dr. Zeichner then proposed four explanations for Trump’s hand condition, none of which were as sensational as the rumors circulating online.

Could it simply be dry skin? One plausible explanation for Trump’s red marks could be excessively dry skin. Given his known inclination towards germophobia, it’s conceivable that frequent handwashing has led to dryness. Additionally, cold weather could exacerbate this issue.

Possibly related to golf? As an avid golfer, Trump frequently spends time on the golf course indulging in his passion for the game. Dr. Zeichner suggests that the red marks might result from friction incurred during activities such as golf, weightlifting, or baseball.
