We’ve all made choices we’re not particularly proud of, said things we wish we could take back, and taken paths we might second-guess. However, few of us carry such visible reminders of our past decisions as Ethan «ModBoy» Bramble, an Australian body modification enthusiast who has adorned himself with over 200 tattoos.
Today, tattoos are mainstream, with unique and artistic designs becoming more popular than ever. Still, there’s often a personal limit to what people are comfortable getting inked. For Ethan, that limit was far beyond what most would even consider. According to reports, his journey began at just 11 years old with his first body modification: ear stretching. Since then, he has undergone an array of alterations, including tongue splitting and even the removal of his belly button.
Yet, it’s his tattoos that draw the most attention, covering him from head to toe. In total, Ethan has spent around $60,000 AUD (approximately $39,000 USD) achieving his look. Now, though, he admits to having second thoughts about some of his choices.
“I guess you could say I regret some tattoos,” he shared with LadBibleTV’s No Filter series. “But it’s not just regret—it’s more about wanting to be perceived differently.”
Ethan also expressed concern about how his appearance might affect everyday interactions, especially when he’s with his young daughter.
«The face tattoos are a big thing,» he explained, «and can lead to a lot of issues for some people. I probably wouldn’t want my daughter to have to face that until she’s older. I wish I hadn’t gone so intense on my face.»
To shift his look, Ethan has been undergoing painful laser treatments to remove some of his tattoos.
“I’ve been doing laser treatments for almost a year,” he said. “We do it in stages, but I’ve gone over the whole area six or seven times already.”
Ethan revealed that a part of his motivation for the removals stems from mental health struggles, including anxiety.
“I think a lot of the anxiety I experienced was linked to having my face covered in tattoos. I’m happy with my appearance now, but I also feel a sense of peace knowing that over the next couple of years, my face tattoos will gradually fade. I’m just resetting the canvas.”
