Teachers who fail to pass the certification exam two or more times will not be able to continue working as teachers, Armenian Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan has said.
According to the minister, there are currently around 80 teachers who have failed to meet the certification requirements more than once. A corresponding decision regarding these teachers has already been made.
Andreasyan emphasized that evaluating a teacher’s work should be based not only on personal qualities but also on professional competence and subject knowledge.
Since teachers work directly with children, she said, their professional skills and knowledge are essential to ensuring the quality of education.
