
Schools in Yerevan will suspend classes for one week during the COP17 conference, Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports has announced.
Starting September 15, educational institutions in the capital will operate on a six-day school week for five weeks. The additional school days will allow the regular one-week autumn break scheduled for October to be extended to two weeks.
The 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) will be held in Armenia from October 19 to 30, 2026.
The ministry clarified that the announced schedule change does not apply to first-grade students.
