Veolia Water has announced a major planned water supply interruption in Gyumri that will last for 36 hours, from 10:00 AM on September 15 until 10:00 PM on September 16.
According to the company, the shutdown is necessary to carry out planned bypass work on a 600-mm steel water pipeline on M. Khorenatsi Street, near the Arthur Aleksanyan Sports School.
The interruption will affect a large number of streets, residential districts and facilities across Gyumri, Shirak Province.
Among the affected areas are A. Gevorgyan, Armenyan, Aivazovsky, Antaravan, B. Khmelnitsky, Bashinjaghyan, Baronyan, Garegin Nzhdeh, Herzen, Griboyedov, Yesayan, Tamanyan, Thatcher, Isahakyan, Khanoyan, Khanjyan, Khachatryan, Khrimyan Hayrik, K. Demirchyan, Kirovakanyan, Komsomol, Koshtoyan, Kuznetsov, Hovsepyan, M. Mkrtchyan, Madatyan, Manushyan, Marat, Melik-Sargsyan, Mnjoyan, N. Shnorhali, Shara Talyan, Sheram, Shinararner, Shchedrin, Tchaikovsky, Pavlov, Paronyan, Poghosyan, R. Danielyan, Raskatlyan, Repin, Savoyan, V. Sargsyan, Abovyan, Kamo, Knunyants, Mendeleev, Nar-Dos, Shahinyan and Shirakatsi streets, including numerous adjoining lanes, rows and passages.
Water will also be unavailable in several larger residential and public areas, including Astghi Square, Charles Aznavour Square, Antaravan’s 5th District, Aragats and Vard-Bagh neighborhoods, Marmashen Highway, Shirakshin residential areas, Finnish district, Textile Workers area and numerous numbered residential zones.
The shutdown will additionally affect several kindergartens and other facilities located within the announced service area.
Residents of the affected parts of Gyumri are advised to take the 36-hour interruption into account and store sufficient water in advance.
Veolia Water apologized to customers for the inconvenience and thanked them in advance for their understanding.
