Armenian citizens who received a deferment from compulsory military service to study at one of the world’s top 50 universities may be eligible for exemption from mandatory military service after completing their studies.
Under the applicable provision, graduates can receive the exemption on the condition that they work in Armenia for at least three years in one of the designated fields.
The measure is intended to create an opportunity for highly qualified specialists educated at leading international universities to apply their knowledge and professional skills in Armenia.
Eligibility is conditional rather than automatic: graduates must meet the established requirements, including the required period of employment in Armenia and work in an eligible professional field.
