No snakes were found during a search of the kindergarten in Kaghtsrashen, Ararat Province, where children and staff were evacuated earlier on September 16 following reports that several snakes had been spotted.
The Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs told Auroranews that an alert about snakes at the kindergarten was received at 10:32 AM on September 16.
A rescue crew was dispatched to the scene and carried out a search of the premises. No snakes were found during the search, according to the ministry.
Earlier, photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reported that at around 10:00 AM, kindergarten employees and children had allegedly spotted five snakes, prompting an immediate evacuation.
According to that earlier report, kindergarten director Lusine Galstyan contacted the Ararat Regional Rescue Department, after which rescuers arrived and began searching the building.
Thus, while there were initial reports of five snakes being seen at the kindergarten, the subsequent search by rescuers did not locate any snakes.
