Vahe Ziroyan Faces Online Criticism After Changing Lyrics of Song Originally Dedicated to Inna Khojamiryan

Armenian actor and singer Vahe Ziroyan has released a new version of a song that was originally dedicated to actress Inna Khojamiryan, sparking criticism and discussion on social media.

The controversy centers on a small but noticeable change in the lyrics. In the original version, Ziroyan sang the name “Inna,” while in the newly released version, he replaces it with “imn a,” an Armenian expression meaning “it’s mine.”

Although the two phrases sound similar, their meanings are different, and the alteration has attracted attention because of the song’s personal history.

Social Media Users React to the Lyrics

The change has prompted criticism from some social media users, who believe that modifying the lyrics of a song originally dedicated to a particular person changes its emotional significance.

Others have focused on the wordplay itself, making the new version a subject of online conversation.

Several days before the release, Ziroyan announced that he would present the song on November 1, accompanying the announcement with the playful Armenian phrase “De brnvek,” roughly meaning “Get ready.”

The release has now generated the attention he anticipated, although not all reactions have been positive.

The singer’s decision to replace the name in the lyrics has become the central topic of discussion surrounding the song, once again drawing public attention to its original dedication to Inna Khojamiryan.
