Rod Stewart, the legendary rockstar and proud father of eight, has admitted that he has never cooked a single meal in his life, instead relying on the women around him to keep him fed.
In a candid interview with Rolling Stone magazine, the 73-year-old singer confessed to his complete lack of culinary skills, revealing that throughout his life, he depended on his girlfriends—and now his wife—to prepare his meals. Describing himself as «absolutely hopeless» in the kitchen, he admitted that even during his single days, he preferred dining at local cafés rather than attempting to cook for himself.
Reflecting on the 1970s, Rod explained that it was a different time, where it was common for men to have multiple girlfriends who took on the responsibility of cooking. Now, he continues to rely on his wife, model Penny Lancaster, and a private chef who prepares meals for him three times a week.
When asked if he had ever prepared a meal, Rod’s response was blunt: «Never. I’ve made a bit of toast and a cup of tea in the afternoon, but other than that, I’ve done nothing. Shameful. Shame on you, Stewart!» He even recalled a disastrous attempt at boiling an egg, which left his kitchen in complete disarray.
Married to Penny Lancaster since 2017, Rod shares two sons, Aiden, 7, and Alastair, 12, with her. He also has children from previous relationships, including Sean, 37, and Kimberly, 39, with his first wife, Alana Stewart; Ruby, 31, with ex-girlfriend Kelly Emberg; and Renee, 26, and Liam, 23, with his second wife, Rachel Hunter. His eldest daughter, Sarah Streeter, 55, was given up for adoption after his relationship with art student Susannah Boffey.
While his musical talents have made him a global icon, it’s clear that Rod Stewart won’t be winning any cooking competitions anytime soon!
