Scotty McCreery’s 2-Year-Old Son Avery Channels George Strait With a Voice That Proves He’s Got the Talent to Back It Up

It’s no shock that Scotty McCreery is introducing his 2-and-a-half-year-old son to the music of George Strait from the get-go.

A lifelong fan of the country legend, McCreery even paid tribute with his own hit, “Damn Strait.” So naturally, it makes sense that he’s passing that admiration down to his son, Avery.

But it turns out Avery doesn’t just enjoy listening to George Strait—he’s already trying out his own vocals.

In a heart-melting new video, likely filmed inside a recording studio, McCreery and his little one are heard off-camera singing along to the King of Country. Avery chimes in with a sweet line from Strait’s 1985 classic, “The Chair”—and for a toddler, he’s got a surprisingly solid delivery.

“Who sings that song?” McCreery asks.

Without missing a beat, Avery proudly responds, “George Strait.”

Though the duo isn’t directly visible in the video, their reflections can be seen in a glass panel—McCreery appears to be at a studio mic, holding Avery in his arms as they share the special moment together.
