Doctor Mentions Foods Linked to Colon Cancer Risk

Russian physician and TV host Alexander Myasnikov spoke on the television channel Russia 1 about dietary habits that, according to medical research, may be associated with an increased risk of colon cancer.

During the broadcast, the doctor explained that excessive consumption of certain types of meat is considered a potential risk factor. He referred primarily to processed red meat products such as sausages, ham, and bacon. According to him, some international health organizations classify these products as foods that may increase cancer risk when consumed frequently and in large quantities.

He also mentioned pork, beef, and lamb among meats that researchers continue to study in relation to long-term health outcomes. The doctor emphasized that these associations are based on statistical observations rather than direct cause-and-effect conclusions.

In addition to dietary factors, Myasnikov pointed out that genetic predisposition can play a role in the development of colon cancer. Family medical history, lifestyle, and overall health habits are all considered important elements in risk assessment.

Medical experts generally note that balanced nutrition, moderation, and regular health check-ups are key components of preventive care.
