The embassy states that a tourist visa is not intended for travel whose primary purpose is giving birth in the United States in order to secure US citizenship for the child.
During the visa application process, a consular officer may deny a tourist visa if there is reason to believe that the applicant’s primary purpose of travel is birth tourism.
Applicants are therefore expected to accurately disclose the purpose of their trip during the visa process.
