Myasnikov stated that some drugs have been observed, in specific contexts, to be associated with a higher likelihood of developing pneumonia compared to those who do not take them. He emphasized that this does not imply direct causation and depends on many individual factors.
According to Myasnikov, the medications mentioned included:
Omeprazole, a drug commonly used for acid reflux and related gastric discomfort
Methotrexate, used in the treatment of various medical conditions under medical supervision
Certain hormonal medications, depending on type, dosage, and clinical need
He also noted that the type of pneumonia being discussed in such cases may be non-infectious, referring to inflammation that is not caused by viruses or bacteria.
