Mediterranean Cyclone Approaches Armenia

A new weather system approaching from the Mediterranean is expected to influence conditions across Armenia in the coming days. According to meteorological data, the cyclone will reach the country starting from the afternoon of December 31, gradually extending its impact through January 1-2.

Snowfall is forecasted in most regions, with certain areas likely to experience more significant amounts. Residents and travelers are advised to monitor updates and plan local transportation with possible delays in mind, especially in higher-altitude and rural communities.

In Yerevan, snowfall is expected to begin during the evening hours of December 31. The precipitation may continue intermittently through January 1, as well as during the night and early morning hours of January 2. Temperatures are projected to remain around seasonal levels, supporting persistent snow cover in parts of the capital.

Authorities and weather services recommend staying informed through official channels as forecasts are subject to change based on the movement and intensity of the system. While no severe disruption is currently predicted, caution is advised on roadways due to potential slippery conditions.
