Arsen Torosyan, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, published a video on his social media page addressing a new government decision related to the return of former USSR Savings Bank deposits.
He noted that in 2025, deposits were returned to citizens born on or before December 31, 1942. This year, the eligibility period has been extended by two additional years, meaning deposits will now be returned to citizens born on or before December 31, 1944, under the same terms and formulas that previously applied.
According to the minister, the change affects approximately 5,000–6,000 citizens.
To receive the funds, applicants must visit a regional center of the Unified Social Service with an identity document and provide the following:
a social card or public services number,
the depositor’s savings booklet, if available,
a certificate from VTB Armenia CJSC confirming the depositor’s account details as of June 10, 1993,
any additional documents, if available.
