On February 24 at 05:33 local time (01:33 GMT), the seismic network of the Territorial Service for Seismic Protection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia recorded a minor earthquake.
The earthquake occurred at geographic coordinates 40.02°N and 44.54°E, approximately 10 kilometers southeast of the city of Masis, at a depth of about 10 kilometers. The recorded magnitude was 2.2.
According to emergency services, the intensity of the ground shaking in the epicentral area was estimated at 2–3 on the intensity scale, and no damage was reported.
The tremor was felt in Masis, as well as in the villages of Mkhchyan and Dvin, with light shaking reported.
