A fatal shooting incident was reported today at one of the Armenian Ministry of Defense military positions located in the Gegharkunik region.
According to information reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the Military Police received operational information indicating that a serviceman had died as a result of gunfire.
Upon arrival at the scene, authorities confirmed the information.
The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Narek Hakobyan, a resident of Abovyan.
Law enforcement authorities have identified a suspected individual, who has been located. An investigation is ongoing to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
