A tragic and mysterious incident was reported on March 11 in the Kotayk region According to emergency services a report was received around 15 10 that a person may have drowned in the reservoir known locally as Tsovinar located in the administrative area of Hrazdan city
Rescuers from the Kotayk Regional Rescue Department together with officers from the Hrazdan division of the Community Police conducted search operations for about two hours but were unable to locate the person
Later the search efforts were joined by rescuers from the Special Rescue Operations Center as well as a rescue diver from the Gegharkunik Regional Rescue Department who arrived from Sevan The diver also conducted search operations for approximately two hours but the body was not found
Search operations have been temporarily suspended and are expected to resume tomorrow morning
Police in Hrazdan are currently preparing the relevant documents which will be transferred to the Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee
According to preliminary information the missing person is a 72 year old resident of the Kotayk region and the woman’s hat was reportedly found near the reservoir shoreline
