Archimandrite Fr Zakaria Baghumyan, Director of the Christian Education Center of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, has addressed a frequently asked question: should people who have lost loved ones celebrate Easter or not.
According to the clergyman, the Resurrection of Christ is for everyone—both for those who have deceased relatives and those who do not.
He emphasized that Easter represents Christ’s victory over death and the beginning of new life. Without the reality of the Resurrection, Christianity itself would lose its meaning.
Fr Zakaria noted that this holiday is especially important for those who have lost loved ones, as Christians live with faith and hope in resurrection.
He encouraged believers to fully experience the joy of the Resurrection and to share that same spiritual joy with their departed loved ones.
It is worth noting that Easter will be celebrated on April 5 this year.
