Armenian actor and blogger Erik Shahbazyan recently appeared on the show Tete A Tete, where he shared a deeply personal and emotional story about his past.
During the interview, he revealed that he has a 14-year-old son in the United States, whom he has never met and with whom he has had no ongoing contact. The child was born from his first marriage, when Shahbazyan was just 20 years old.
According to the actor, the breakdown of his family was linked to a difficult period in his life involving substance use and gambling. One of the most emotional moments he shared was about the only letter he ever received from his son, in which the boy wrote that his father had forgotten him.
Shahbazyan responded to the message, but soon after, his social media account was blocked, and communication was lost again.
Today, he says his greatest goal is to ask for forgiveness and have the chance to be a real father. He also expressed gratitude toward his current wife, Lilit, noting that she fully supports his desire to reconnect and is ready to accept and support the child.
