A tragic incident was reported on May 14 at the Nubarashen Penitentiary operating under the Ministry of Justice of Armenia.

, a deceased inmate was discovered in one of the prison cells.
Preliminary reports state that the body of a 51-year-old inmate from Gegharkunik Province, identified as Mher G., was found hanging in a cell located on the first floor of the facility. Initial information suggests the case may involve suicide.
The Penitentiary Service reportedly informed the investigative authorities about the incident. Investigators from the Erebuni and Nubarashen investigative division of the Investigative Committee of Armenia arrived at the scene to examine the circumstances surrounding the death.
Authorities are continuing the investigation.
